AZ - NSGP Application Deadline

The FY2024 State of Arizona NSGP provides funding support for physical and cyber security enhancements and other security related activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist or other extremist attack.

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant for an AZ-NSGP grant must have met the nonprofit eligibility requirements of the US Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Administration (USDHS/FEMA) Nonprofit Security Grant Program for the 2023 grant year and meet either of the following:

    1. Have applied for the federal nonprofit security grant and not received funding for the same year the applicant is applying for the state grant.
    2. Have been unable to apply for the federal nonprofit security grant due to an inability to fund the request up front and wait for reimbursement.

Nonprofit organizations with one site may apply for up to $100,000 for that site. Nonprofits with multiple sites may choose to apply for additional sites up to a maximum of three sites. Total amount for all sites may not exceed $100,000. If a nonprofit applicant applies for projects at multiple sites, regardless of whether projects are similar in nature, each individual site must include a vulnerability assessment unique to each site.

COMPLETE AND SUBMIT:

  1. Vulnerability Assessment on which the application is based. (There is no standardized form.)
    Please refer to the FY2024 State of Arizona NSGP Grant Guidance for the Vulnerability Assessment options.
    Vulnerability assessments can be provided in one of the following forms:
    1. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Self-Assessment (https://www.cisa.gov/houses-worship-security-self-assessment). Although the CISA form is specifically written for houses of worship, the questions are easily translatable to any nonprofit organization. NOTE: Clicking the link above will take you to the Self-Assessment landing page where there are explicit directions on how to complete the form. Please read all instructions on the landing page and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Next-Assessment Details" to begin the Self-Assessment.
    2. An assessment completed by the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC). (Requests may be emailed to cikr@azdps.gov.)
    3. An assessment by a vendor with whom the nonprofit organization has contracted. (Please note if using a vendor to complete an assessment, said vendor or any of its affiliates are not eligible to provide any of awarded security enhancement services or equipment.)
  2. FY2024 State of Arizona NSGP Application (Excel File – Multiple tabs)
    You must submit the application in the Excel format.
    • Download and save the file
    • Enable content
    • Complete Tabs 1 – 5 (Tab 6 – if applicable)
    • Application Tab 1 - Part V - Milestones – Use January 15, 2024 through May 31, 2024 as your period of performance. All milestone dates should occur within that range.
    • Project Detail Tab 2 –
      1. Complete only those sections for which grant funds are being sought.
      2. Quantities and estimates should be based upon actual estimates and/or informed research including anticipated potential cost increases.
    • Save the file using the following naming convention:
      • FY2024_AZ_NSGP_<Nonprofit Name>
