The Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) is a State Cabinet-level office responsible for the management and administration of the terrorism-related homeland security grants received by Arizona from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.

The homeland security grants are utilized in the mission efforts to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other catastrophic events.  In addition to the grant programs, AZDOHS works to promote collaboration and partnerships among federal, State, local, private sector and Tribal entities to leverage resources to bolster first responder capabilities and increase Arizona’s resiliency.

AZDOHS is responsible for several key homeland security functions including:

• Manage and administer Arizona’s homeland security grants
• Enhance border security
• Enhance cyber security and protection of Arizona’s critical infrastructure
• Expand interoperable public safety communications
• Collaborate with federal, State, local, private sector and Tribal partners on homeland security efforts

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office is the agency in Arizona that receives complaints against employers not adhering to the State’s Employer Sanctions Law.  For more information on this law, visit the Arizona Attorney General’s Legal Arizona Worker's Act page.
